SALMON, Idaho (CBS2) — The Hayden fire has now spread to 14,745 acres.
The Interagency Incident Management Team says most of the fire activity and growth has occurred from the East Fork of Hayden Creek into Little Mill Creek, Bates Gulch and Jack Smith Gulch.
The fire perimeter is still within primary containment lines. In areas where containment lines are completed, crews increase the depth or construct contingency lines.
Resources conducted burnout operations supported by aviation in the vicinity of Kadletz Creek and Bear Valley Road to build an anchor point to continue containment lines in the northern area of the fire.

This data comes amid a spike in violence last weekend in central Mexico, where at least three mass shootings took place, including one at a Christmas party, leaving at least 11 dead and many more wounded.
