Idaho Adventure: Soda Springs Geyser
SODA SPRINGS, Idaho (CBS 2) — Adventure Starts with Weather at CBS 2
This is one adventure that is worth seeing any time of year, the Soda Springs Geyser
I’ve visited there several times before but the video we're showing you is from Jim and Sharon Exler who visited last weekend.
You can see there was still a little snow on the ground from last week’s cold snap.
The Soda Springs Geyser was created some 80 years ago when locals began drilling in search of a warm water source for a swimming pool.
The geyser is the world’s only captive geyser, which means it's capped with a valve for a controlled release and hurls water 100 feet into the air every hour, on the hour.
It’s a perfect roadside attraction when traveling in eastern Idaho.
